The FDC prioritizes children of UCCS graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, staff and alumni. Applications from members of the greater Springs community not affiliated with the campus are considered on a space-available basisHow to Apply
Tuition Rates:
Childcare tuition is charged monthly, on the 1st of every month, for that month’s care.
Two payment options are available:
1. Full Monthly payment due on the 1st day of each month
2. 1st Half of monthly payment due on 1st of the month with 2nd half of monthly payment due on the 15th of the month.
All childcare tuition payments must be made through the SmartCare Childcare Management System.
Drop-In Fees:
Drop-in care is available only when space permits. Daily drop-in tuition is due on the day of service. Please contact the FDC administrative team for availability.
Additional Charges:
Late payment: $15.00 if not paid in full by the 15th of each month
Late pick-up: $2.00 per minute after 5:30 pm each day
Contract change: $12.00 per change
Return check charge: $30.00 per return for insufficient funds

Scholarship Opportunities:
UCCS Students may apply for scholarships to pay for 25%-70% of their childcare tuition, dependent on PELL eligibility and SAI. Please stop by the FDC front desk for a scholarship application.
** This tuition schedule takes effect August 17, 2026, for newly enrolled children and September 1, 2026, for currently enrolled families. It is the policy of the Family Development Center to review fees annually. The Family Development Center reserves the right to change fees at the beginning of any semester if deemed necessary.
